Who’s Fast Food is Worse? Japan vs USA
I just ordered delivery pizza from one of two locations that are near where I live. In Japan, I prefer Pizza Hut but there is no location nearby that will deliver to my address. So I am stuck with Aoki and Pizza California. They are mediocre and I think it is a blessing in disguise. Because of the medicority, I don’t order so much. Saves me money and a few pounds around the waist.
Anyway, my point of this story is that when I got my monthly pizza delivery I also get an ad, and in the ad, they usually promote their most recent pizza campaigns. This month actually made me laugh and worry at the same time. Below is one of the campaigns for this month.
This is just bothersome, and something I am surprised I have not seen in the USA yet. Maybe it is because in the USA we are more closer to the European origins of the pizza where as in Japan, they are more closer to the marketing origins (whatever those may be). Why not just order a pizza and get your french fries at the same time.

That pizza looks like it was designed by an 8 year old. Japanese fast food usually leaves a lot to be desired. Ok, okonomiyaki and takuyaki are good but their pizzas and sandwiches are terrible. Best ever pizza i had was Yonkers New York.
Problem with Japanese pizzas is the high price.
American fast food is better for price and you can ask how you want the food, in Japan you can`t usually ask for “specials” as there aren`t any.
Thank you for your comment. Yea I agree with New York Pizza….Anywhere in the US, I think Pizza is probably not that much different than here, though I don’t think we will find any like the one I am showing here.
I like Pizza Hut here in Japan, because it is actually pretty close to the US style. No Pizza Hut around here so I am stuck with the clowns hehe.
We live in the remote countryside. I don`t even know where my nearest pizza place is. I miss small family pizza places, which sometimes cost a bit more but are nice places to spend an evening with a big pizza and some beers. My only takeaway within 20 miles is a Mcd`s.
Never tried Japanese Pizza Hut, maybe sometime when i go Osaka. Do they have eat in places or just take away?
Not sure about the Sit in availability with Pizza Huts in Japan.
I know what you mean about the mom and pop places. I found an awesome place in Boise, Idaho called the Flying Pie http://flyingpie.com/ that was pricey but was worth it. And they always had some really good beers on draft.
